TRAVELING TO OLD PRACTICES AND PHARMACIES IN FILIATES

Τraveling to old practices and pharmacies in Filiates. A journey to the historical context of the city of Filiates and the importance it played in the medical and pharmaceutical field until the establishment of its hospital. Doctors and pharmacists, techniques and procedures very different from today were presented at the three levels of the exhibition in the renewed area of the Center for Historical Studies of Thesprotia.
In the basement there was a representation of a gynaecological clinic with all the equipment, while in the next room, in special showcases, was placed pharmacological material and a large collection of medicine bottles of the era. Old photographic material, as well as old medical artefacts, were presented in the remainder of the exhibition.
The opening took place on the 24th of April 2019 and was a co-organization of the Center for Historical Studies of Thesprotia and the Regional Unity of Thesprotia.
The exhibition will remain open until 15 July 2019.

It was a collaboration of: Minas Paschopoulos, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Vice Dean of the University of Ioannina and Michalis Pasiakos, President of the Center for Historical Studies of Thesprotia: in the research and collection of the material and the exhibits, and Anastasia Smyroglou: in design and installation of the exhibition and the printed material.
